EGS has extensive experience on FAA and FDOT funded projects and is typically retained by either the client or the engineer or architect of record (EOR/AOR).  As an independent arbiter of the contract documents our role is to ensure that the construction project is completed within the requirements of the conformed contract documents. Typical duties include, among other tasks, the following major elements:

  • Monitoring of the contractor’s schedule
  • Acting as a liaison between the owner, EOR/AOR, and the contractor
  • Monitoring shop drawing submittals and verifying that any changes become part of the contract documents
  • Performing initial interpretation of the contract documents in response to any request for information (RFI’s)
  • Reviewing and commenting on the contractors quality control plan
  • Assisting the client and EOR/AOR in determining if the work is proceeding in general conformance of the contract documents, is defective, or is to be rejected

Attending conferences and project meetings with the shareholders involved throughout the project is critical. Maintaining a daily logbook, reviewing certified payrolls on any FAA funded project, reviewing schedule of values and pay applications to confirm the actual work in progress and/or stored materials is acceptable for payment as well as any change orders. Coordination of any testing requirements is also a important component of our services

Another critical component is assisting the client in closeout documentation by coordinating the record documents, all testing data, and verifying punch list completion and warranty documentation.
