EG Solutions Inc (EGS) was retained by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) through their prime consultant, CDM Smith, to provide oversight services for the expansion of the Orlando International Airport.
FDOT is investing $40 million in the new South Terminal Complex. EGS’s role is to provide program management oversight services to verify that the state investment is in compliance with the Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) that the airport has with FDOT.
The initial phase of the South Terminal Complex consists of 19 airline gates and a landside terminal. The gates will accommodate a mixture of various aircraft to serve both domestic and international travel in a world class complex. Included in the program is also the necessary infrastructure that includes access roads and bridges, utilities and aircraft apron. The complex is located adjacent to the recently completed Intermodal Transit Facility and parking structure, of which both may be expanded.
