As part of our commitment to giving back this holiday season, we adopted a local family in need. This family’s story is one of love, resilience, and extraordinary compassion.
The parents recently welcomed two young children of their own making them a family of seven. When the mother’s sister faced difficult circumstances that would have resulted in her four sons entering foster care, the couple made the heartfelt decision to take all four boys into their home. They are now in the process of adopting them permanently, creating one big, blended family of nine children ranging from ages 1 to 14.
Our EGS elves pulled together and helped this family with their wish list so that everyone had a little something under the tree, even grandpa who has moved in to help with the children! Our elves also got to have hot cocoa and cookies with the family when they came to fill their sleigh with all the goodies – it was a blessed experience for everyone.
Our amazing elves also pulled together donations for Valerie’s House, which is a local organization that aims to help children and families across Lee, Charlotte, and Sarasota counties work through the loss of a loved one together and go on to live fulfilling lives, and Solve House, a local, faith based organization that provides housing and other vital resources to at-risk women during and after pregnancy.
